Who I AM & How I work

Born and raised in Zurich, I became interested in art at a very early age.
In 2009 I found myself at my first internship at the Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, and in 2010
I began my four-year training as a theater painter at the Schauspielhaus Zurich.

My next employment was in 2014 at the Lucerne Theater. I was allowed to spend five wonderful years as a theater painter and learned to work with very diverse materials and let them flow into my art harmoniously. Based on these experiences, I have begun to give my own pictures a colorful, luminous aura and bring them to life in a certain way.

Through the years at the theater, I was able to gather an incredible amount of experience and learn a lot. Nevertheless, at some point I felt the need to implement my own ideas rather than those of a stage designer. Then, about four years ago, I took the step to become self-employed and have been working as an artist ever since.

My first exhibition took place at the AK Gallery in Berlin. Followed by another one in a temporary pop-up location in New York, in collaboration with the fashion label Atoms. These were special occasions and I am grateful to have been able to show my work in these two art-loving cities. The international journey continued the following year , with exhibitions in Munich, Monaco and Paris. Further exhibitions are planned for 2024, including in Madrid, Luxembourg, Marbella, Rome and the Bürgenstock Hotel in Lucerne. I am particularly grateful to the team at Colombo La Famiglia in Zürich and Lucerne, where my artworks are on permanent display. It is a pleasure for me to be able to present my art in such surroundings.

How the Lightart Project came about

I‘m fascinated by everything that illuminates, like a moth that is magically attracted to light.
I have often imagined what a painting would look like if it was illuminated, if the colors could be changed according to the mood. These imaginings gave birth to „Lightart“.

All my paintings are painted with opaque acrylic color on a special form of canvas from the theater.
Currently, my focus is on portraits of people of different cultures, which fascinate me visually. In a darkened room their mystical quality permeates an entire room.

Since the paintings are partially illuminated from behind with LEDs, the white areas between the mostly black and brown patterns remain intentionally unpainted. Thus, the light is clearly visible from the front.
The changeable play of colors can be controlled by an app as the mood takes you.

Through an additional small device hidden under the picture in the frame, it can also be switched on and off without an app.
In order for it to light up, the whole picture must be connected to the power accordingly.
The lighting itself is built into a sturdy, high-quality wooden frame. The back panel gives the whole thing additional support and rounds it off skillfully.
